Who We Are
Founded in 1980 by Karma and Zumki Lama, our mission has been to showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of Tibetan refugees in Nepal and India. As refugees ourselves, we were deeply moved by the warm reception and appreciation for our culture in America. This inspired us to create a bridge between these talented artisans and a broader audience.
Our approach is rooted in fairness and direct support. We exclusively collaborate with local artisans, ensuring no middlemen diminish their deserved earnings. Our biannual trips to Nepal and India are not just buying trips; they are opportunities to forge new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.
Through these connections, we've seen firsthand the transformative impact of our support on the lives of these skilled individuals. We're committed to not just maintaining, but enhancing these relationships, continually working towards a future where their artistry is not only recognized but also rewarded in a way that enriches their communities.
With your support
You can directly impact the local artisans by visiting either Nepal and India and experiencing the rich and vibrant culture. Many small independent businesses fail due to the changing times, and this, in turn, affects the local artisans in small villages in Southeast Asia creating a domino effect. With your support, we can continue supporting our friends from Southeast Asia and continually grow to impact their lives in a positive fashion.
