This is a traditional tiger rug, each design is cut by hand to create a 3-dimensional look that emulates a real tiger skin. They are handmade in Nepal of 100% wool in the traditional hand woven manner with 100 knots per square inch.
The tiger is known to symbolize unconditional confidence and disciplined awareness, kindness, and modesty. It is associated with confidence, dominance over the forest, and the air element.
Firstly, the rug is beautifully made and an absolute delight to look at over and over. A perfect fit in my home. Unfortunately, due to no fault of Mandala, UPS lost the original package. Mandala worked hard to track down the package and ended up sending me a replacement. They were super helpful, polite, and responsive through the entire process.
